I have been debating on changing out my windows in my house to the more current efficient type.  My Windows are the original ones that came with the house back in the 1950's. My questions are:

  1. Will this reduce my electric bill?
  2. Will this help the environment?

Thanks,Bear1980

Question 1: Yes they can help a huge amount. It really depends on where the air is escaping from your house. Windows can account for as much as 10% to 25% of your heating/cooling bill. If you have 1950 windows upgrading to insulated gas windows will help a lot with more than just your bill. Resale value would go up as well.  Check out "energy.gov"Q #2 Yes, less spent on fueling your house will help. The more each one of us does the better. Never think you don't make a difference.
